Beginners Terrarium Workshop

Step into our working production greenhouse at Botaniculture and create something truly special.

You’ll design and build your own unique terrarium.  Layering soils, choosing from specialty plants and adding natural stones to create a miniature landscape that’s yours to take home.

Along the way we will share practical plant care tips, propagation techniques and stories from life on our Silvan farm, connecting you to the gentle rhythm of growing and making.

Surrounded by rows of living greenery and the calming scent of earth, this hands-on workshop is a chance to slow down, get your hands dirty and discover the simple joy of creating something beautiful and lasting.

A little bit about our farm
Our family-run flower farm sits high on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful Yarra Valley.

Growing in rich volcanic soil, we sow, nurture and harvest an ever changing collection of rare, unusual and beautifully scented flowers, many of which you won't find anywhere else.

No experience is needed. This workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone who enjoys plants & gardening.

A little note before you book
This workshop takes place inside our working production greenhouse on our Silvan flower farm.

The greenhouse can be warm, humid and uneven underfoot and there may be soil, water, garden equipment and working areas around you. 
Some activities involve handling glass containers, soil, stones and gardening tools. We will provide guidance throughout the workshop but please take care when handling these materials.

Our flower farm is not fully accessible and guests need to be comfortable walking and standing on uneven ground for around 1.5 hours.
We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience, so please consider whether the terrain and physical requirement.
