Grow & Bloom – Cut Flower Growing Workshop

Turn your passion for flowers into a flourishing patch

Ever dreamed of filling your days with flowers? Whether you’d love to grow abundant blooms in your backyard, start a productive cut-flower patch, or explore the world of flower farming, this immersive two-day workshop is the perfect place to begin.

Held at our working flower farm in Silvan, this hands-on experience invites you to step into the rhythm of seasonal flower growing. Across the weekend, you’ll learn how flowers move from soil to harvest and finally to market.

Day One – Growing with Intention

Day one takes place in our market garden, where you’ll step fully into the rhythm of growing seasonal flowers.

You’ll learn how to plan and manage seasonal crops, understand succession planting, and recognise the best harvesting times for quality stems. We’ll also explore post-harvest care and conditioning techniques that maximise vase life and flower quality.

This is hands-on learning in its truest sense — planting, cutting, conditioning and preparing flowers just as we do on the farm.

Day Two – Harvest to Market

On day two, we focus on what happens after the harvest.

You’ll learn about bunching flowers, pricing stems, preparing orders, and understanding how flowers move from field to customer. Working alongside us, you’ll gain insight into the workflow of a working flower farm as we prepare blooms for our shop and workshops.

It’s a practical look at time management, flower quality, and the everyday rhythm of a grower–florist business.

Practical Notes

This workshop takes place outdoors on a working flower farm. Be ready for changing weather and to get your hands dirty. We recommend wearing casual, comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes or gumboots, and bringing gardening gloves, a sun hat, sunscreen, and your camera.

At Botaniculture, we teach in harmony with nature — blending sustainable growing practices with our love for the land and the seasons. This workshop reflects our zero-waste, locally grown philosophy.

Spaces for this hands-on workshop are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your spot.
